Please tell me that it isn't just my teenage boys that can't seem to do their chores correctly. I know I can be type A, but damn. How hard is it to remember to dry the damn bowl before you put it away? And how many times do they need to be reminded?
To spare any particular child from embarrassment I won't name names, but I constantly have to remind said child to do things. Things that he should not have to be reminded to do. Like shower, brush his teeth and change his clothes. At what point do I just throw my hands in the air and declare that I am done? At what point do I just resign myself to the fact that he is never going to do the things that we have instilled in him everyday since birth that you do?
At what point do you just realize that they are never going to clean up after themselves, do their chores correctly or even consistently?
And I swear to god if I hear "I forgot" one more time I am going to go postal.
Oh, and please tell me that I am not the only mom who has kids (and a husband) who will just toss things on a designated spot of they don't know (or care) where it goes? If it is in the kitchen, it goes on top of the refrigerator. If it is in the living room it goes either on the red hutch ot book care - unless it is paperwork type stuff. Then it gets dumped on my desk. If it is anything else, it gets tossed into my room.
Keep in mind, we don't have that much stuff so there is no reason they shouldn't know where things go... you know, unless they forgot.
